Synopsis:

When Addison Greyer, a happily married mother of three, decides to re-enter the workforce, she never once considers that taking a job might unravel everything she thinks to be true about her life—that it would cause her to look deep within and confront fears she didn’t know existed. She couldn’t have foreseen how a chance meeting or a single day can change the course of an entire lifetime.

Like many women, Addison is defined in terms of marriage and motherhood, until she suddenly finds her life turned upside down by her husband’s decision to take a job thousands of miles away. When her tough-as-nails boss offers her an opportunity she can’t refuse, Addie is forced to make difficult choices. Those choices take her further and further out of the carefully crafted fairytale life she has created and lead her into an unknown world where things are anything but black and white: a world where she learns that desire is not only dangerous but deadly. In this world, all bets are off as she is forced to finally confront her past. As her past and present collide, she has to make decisions that for most are unthinkable, decisions that can tear her family apart, and perhaps even have fatal consequences.

Bedrock is a love story designed to showcase how the choices we make ultimately shape our lives. It serves as a reminder that in the end what defines us is not the big events, the monumental occasions. It’s the tiny, seemingly inconsequential moments in between. It’s proof that time passes and we cannot, no matter how hard we try, get it back. Bedrock is a story of love and grief that pretty much sums up the context of the human experience.

Due to heavy subject matter and sexual content this book is recommended for mature readers.

My Review:
BedrockBedrock by Britney King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Britney Kings debut Novel Bedrock is a tantalizing and heart felt story about a mother who's perfectly build world changes in an instant. This book is bubbling with love, uncertainty, secrets and scandals. If you were a fifty Shades of Grey fan, you will Love Bedrock

I loved how this book started out giving you a preview of what was to come. I did however feel the first couple chapters were a little slow but once you I got past those couple of chapters I couldn't put the book down. Kings writing had me feeling right along with Addison, all the hurt and happiness that she felt. Addison is a strong women who has been dealt a rough hand. When she meets Patrick she knows this is the man she is going to marry. Patrick and Addison's relationship at the start is pretty rocky with the disapproval of his parents but after a little separation they find each other again and don't let go. When they start to build their family things will never be the same. The feelings that Addison projects turing this time in the book is a great representation of how some mothers can feel. No matter how much you love your family sometimes it can a be a bit much and you need an escape, working is Addison's. Things go down hill when Patrick isn't on the same page, he may seem like the perfect husband from the outside but as time goes on he has become self absorbed and distant. Then everything gets turned up a notch once Addison goes starts interviewing. This is where I pick up another book boyfriend named William Hartman. The billion dollar man of the book with a few secrets of his own. From this point on the book gets pretty steamy. Every character in this book gets a voice and it lets us explore more then just Addison's world. This was great for the book and kept me entertained every page. How does one keep together a failing marriage thousand miles away together, be a mom, a great employee, a mistress, a domanatrix and not feel a little overwhelmed. Add on top of that someone is out to kill her just to prove a point. Yeah I think this book has all the right points to make this a great read for anyone into something a little more then the normal romance.

I would recommend this book to those who enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey and the like. I received my copy for my honest review.

Author Bio:I'm married to a man I adore (when he isn’t driving me crazy) and am the mother of FIVE amazing kids, who (surprise!) also have a habit of driving me crazy. My best guess is that it’s genetic. In addition, I founded a local network for women in 2012, which has grown to almost 700 members. But to further prove that I may in fact be certifiably insane, I'm scheduled to publish my debut novel entitled, Bedrock in May of 2013. Then and only then, will I consider my training to be an expert (life) juggler complete.

Eversea is a FINALIST in the Winter Rose Unpublished Contest for 2013

Here are some Sexy teasers to get your appetite going:

Teaser #1:

"Jack’s lips were warm and soft next to the rough skin of his chin, and I drew closer to him like a magnet, needing to press my body, my skin, against his. But there were two layers of fabric between us, and I became aware of the cool press of his wet t-shirt.

“You need to take this off,” I managed. My voice sounded raspy to my own ears as I made to lift the fabric.
He let go of me and reached behind his neck. Gathering a handful of shirt, he peeled it forward over his head.
My breath left me as I came face to chest with his perfectly sculpted body. The firelight played across his skin and his flexed abdominal muscles as he leaned back on his haunches slightly to lay the shirt out by the fire.
Without thinking, I brought the flat of my hand up to the center of his chest below his collarbone. His skin was cool to the touch and smooth.
He stilled where he was, leaning slightly away from me on his knees and brought his eyes to mine.
I very slowly ran my palm down over the ridges and planes of his chest, pausing for a moment when I noticed the hard beat of his heart. His eyes got darker and broodier as my hand continued it’s slow journey downward. His breathing changed, as did my own in response. My eyes dropped to follow my hand as it reached the belt buckle of his black jeans.
“You should take these off, too.” My words came out as a whisper."

Teaser #2:

"My cold hands found Jack’s warm, smooth skin.
He tensed under my touch, his eyes now slate grey in the darkened hall.
Jack’s hand came up to my face, and his thumb brushed over my lips like when my tongue had accidentally found him. This time he pushed it against my lips, seeking entry. I hesitated a split second before sucking him into my mouth to taste the tang of his skin. Jack’s breathing hitched as he fed it to me, sliding it in and out against my tongue. His mouth grew taut, his nostrils flaring slightly, his gaze pinned on the action.
Watching his reactions, my own breath had grown shallow and irregular. My pulse was spiking, the heat inside of me swirling up between us like a fever.
Slowly he pulled his thumb out and rubbed the wet pad across my lower lip pulling my lip down.
 The laughing was over.
Every point of contact my body had with Jack’s was like a conduit for an ever-increasing maelstrom of feeling. The feel of his rough denim clad hips under my bare thigh, the press of his hardness against my apex, and the warm skin of his hand as it roamed up my thigh and waist to my neck, to my chest. His mouth. My heart.
Jack tugged my scarf from its loosely wound place at my neck. In moments, his hand cupped my breast through my dress, his thumb running across my nipple.
My breath came in ragged pants. “Jack ...” I managed, my chest involuntarily thrusting forward into his hand.
His lips quirked. “What about this?” he whispered roughly and slipped his fingers under the low neckline of my dress, tugging it and my bra down. He feathered a light touch around my bare nipple in the cool air.
“Gah ...,” I mumbled.
He chuckled, and then his warm hand palmed my breast more fully and I moaned.
Jack’s eyes flickered. Sliding down my body, he bent his legs and hooked my other leg around him. He stood up quickly, taking my weight, his hands on my bare thighs and pressed me firmly back against the wall.
I gasped and grabbed onto his broad shoulders to steady myself.
Jack’s face was intense as he lowered his mouth to mine. He stopped millimeters away—his breath softly fanning my lips.
“Are you sure?” he whispered.
I nodded. “Yes.”
He captured my mouth into a deep kiss and pressed himself hard against me."

Available in Stores Today!!!

" A stunning debut. The Sea of Tranquility stole my heart, broke it, robbed me of breath, and made me ache. Read it and fall in love with Katja Millay's raw, lyrical writing," -Ann Aguirre, USA Today besting author of Enclave & Outpost

If you guys haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for? If its to come out in paperback TODAY is your lucky day. I am reposting my review today, in support of this astonishing book that will have you visiting all your emotions. You will be heart broken one page and falling in love the next. I may just need to go read it again myself.

Review: Sea of Tranquility

The Sea of TranquilityThe Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to."

Nastya has moved in with her aunt who lives two hours away from her hometown to try and start over. But will she have the courage to face her deepest fears? Josh has lived in the same town his whole live and everyone knows his story. Will he be be able to connect with anyone ever again? When Nastya and Josh cross paths they find something in each other that brings them close without even saying a word.

I thought this book was pretty amazing. Katja Millay has a winner! At first you just wish you could shake Nastya just to make her talk, but then you get to know her more and you just want to save the little girl she was. Josh is the quit guy who is good with his hands, who wouldn’t be attracted to that, but he is so much more than just an average teenage guy. Both of these characters have had an intense life up to this point and they both still have a long way to go. I thought these two made great friends and they found each other when they needed the other most, and they didn’t even know it. Through there own kind of therapy things start to look up, until someones feelings get hurt. I enjoyed the journey that Katja brought me on, there was so many emotions and the ending. Oh my God the ending. I’ll stop before I tell you what it is because well you have to read the book to find out.

Books aren’t meant for everyone to like and this is definitely a YA book so if you don’t like reading about high schoolers, I still think you might like the story behind it anyways because it is not your typical high school romance drama.

{Review} Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend by Louise Rozett

Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend (Confessions, #2)Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend by Louise Rozett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

" It's a Strange Feeling to be standing in a driveway at a keg party, fully clothed but soaking wet and wrapped in an oversized towel, talking-or not talking, as the case may be-to the guy who may or may not like you and who you haven't seen in months, who is standing next to your worst enemy, who may or may not be his ex-girlfriend. Throw in the pacing, wet victim of a Union High hazing and a few onlookers, and you've officially got a three-ring circus."

Summers almost over and Rose can't wait to go back to school, yeah right. If Roses freshman year was any indication of how her high school career is going to turn out, Sophomore year is no different, expect for the fact that she is learning more of who she is. Louise has written a series that is true to the life of high school. Not only is she getting into what it's like for us girls who weren't the most popular in school but she is also hitting topics like Sex, sexual orientation, bullying, abuse, love, and empowerment to name a few. Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend had me reliving my time in school and some of that was good and some parts brought back those days where school was not the place I wanted to spend my time, it had me wishing these books were around then.

Rose and her best friend Tracy start the year off by heading to a party, and we know how parties turn out of these two. This one is no different, Rose gets in the middle of the swim teams hazing and ends up in the pool herself. After of being avoided all summer by Jamie the guy she wishes was her boyfriend, she finally gets to see him when he pulls her from the pool. Of course, this doesn't just stay at the party and the school finds out and Rose gets to spend a lot of her time in the principals office this year. Teachers may be praising her for her actions Freshman year and hoping they can count on her this year, but does she really want to be noticed by the other students for telling on them again? Then theres Jamie, he may have said he is no good for her but he just can't stay away, whats a girl to do? But will he keep showing up when he finds out Rose is keeping something from him? Rose has a lot on her plate this year and she even is going to try out for the school musical because she found out she's a great singer and is pretty sure thats where her future lays. Will Rose be able to handle everything that is going on and figure out what the right thing to do actually is?  This year there is just so much going on for Rose and all the other characters it's hard to give you guys just a snippet of whats happening. But trust me that this book is just as good as the first. If you have lived through High School then you can relate to at least one person in this book. You wont be disappointed when you pick up Rozett's second installment in the Confessions series, I know I wasn't. I have this book four stars out of five because it hits on a lot of important topics and it shows you that you can do the right thing and still keep your friends.
