In the Stack

So, It has been awhile since I have let you all in on what I have in my TBR stack. Beings that Christmas has pasted I have a view books added to the list, both paper and kindle. I have been writing a lot as well and cut through some of what have bought since the last post.

Lover Awakened:Book 3 in the  The Black Dagger Botherhood novels
“ A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scares from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion and terror his only passion-until he rescues a beautiful female from the evil Lessening Society.
Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for each other begins to overtake them, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Be;;a’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past and find a future with her….”

I have been entertaining with the Brotherhood this past couple of weeks and just want more and more.

“ The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not.
Olivia Townsend is nothing special. she’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do, Plain and simple. Black and white.
But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and NAsh Davenport. They’re brother. Twins.
Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns insides to much and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her.
Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful. responsible and intensely passopnate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every tune he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.
Black and white turns to shades of gray when olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them.
Bother brothers make her heart trmble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?"

“ To satisfy his late father’s wishes. hot and single billionaire Michael Conte must find a bride-someone who will fit into his traditional family back home in Italy-and fast, so his engaged sister will be allowed to wed. With no intention of being tied down, Michael “proposes” to fiery, free-spirited photographer Maggie Ryan: if she will play the part of his fiancee during her trip to Milan for a photo shoot, he will keep away from her married best friend, Alexa, and stop making Maggie nuts with their too-close-for-comfort flirtations.
But once in Italy, sexual tension sparks the hottest no-strings-attached arrangement on any continent. Could marriage be the most enticing trap of all?"
 this is what happened
“I met him at the candy store. He turned around and smiled at me and I was surprised enough to smile back. This was not a children’s candy store, mind you- this was the kind of place you went to buy expensive imported chocolate truffles for your boss’s wife because you felt guilty for having sex with him when you were both at a conference in Milwaukee. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
I’ve been hit on plenty of times, mostly by men with little finesse who thought what was between their legs made up for what they lacked between their ears. Sometimes I went home with them anyways, just because it felt good to want and be wanted, even if it was mostly fake.
The problem with wanting is that it’s like pouring water into a vase full of stones. It fills you up before you know it, leaving no room for anything else. I don’t apologize for who I am or what I’ve done in-or out- of the bed. I have my job, my house and my life, and for a long time I haven’t wanted anything else.
Until Dan. Until now.”

“ DEMETRIUS- He’s the hulking, brooding warrior even his fellow Guardians avoid. Too dark. Too damged. And given his heritage, he knows it’s best to keep everyone at arm’s length.
Isadora is missing. The words pound through his head like a frantic drimbeat. For her own protection, Demetrius did all he could to avoid the fragile princess, his soul mate. And now she’s gone-kidnapped. To get her back, he’ll have to go to the black place in his soul he’s always shunned. As daemons ravage the human realm and his loyalty to the Guardians is put to the ultimate test, Demetrius realizes that Isadora is stronger than anyone thought. And finally letting her into his heart may be the only way to save them both.”

On the Kindle:

Lost In Italy by Stacey Joy Netzel

The Underworld (Fallen Star Series Book 2) by Jessica Sorensen

In the mail today!

I won my first contest the other day, and I can tell you I was really excited because of the Author. Karice Bolton was the first Author I read when I got my kindle over a year ago. I had stopped reading so much once I got out of high school, oh so many years ago. Life just became to hectic to find time to read, I thought.  I picked up Awakening and it started my addiction and so far this year I have read just over 140 books. So, thank you Karice for reawakening my love of reading and for this generous gift.

Thoughtless:Review

Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1)Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Although I loved Thoughtless There where a few times I just wanted to shack Kiera, so that is why I have it 4 stars instead of 5. I wasn’t sure how much more I could take.

“For Almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their loves together- Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university-everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple aprt. Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source- a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes… and none of them will ever be the same”

Oh, how things can change in such a short time. You love someone so much to move across the country to stay with them and than the unthinkable happens. There was so much emotion going on in this book from all the main characters and it was hard not to feel what they were feeling. Once that roller coaster started you just had to hold your breath. Denny is such a sweet heart and you feel for him, but you want to know why he just couldn’t talk to Kiera first. Kellan, well what can I say about him, he was hot, seamy, a rock- god sweetheart, and some other unappealing words come to mind as well, but you just can’t help wanting to hold him, maybe sometimes slap him. Kiera, AHH, I loved her and I wanted to strangle her, I think I would be friends with her is I knew her. My little secret, I wanted to know more of Griffen’s escapades, I know it was not really part of the story, but I always kinda of like the bad guy, I hope we get to see a little more of him in Effortless when it comes out.

This book is more of a New Adult genre so for me it is a little under my age, but close enough that I can still relate and the storyline could happen to anyone not just a 21 year old.

I would recommend you go out and get this book, you won’t be able to put it down and you will be itching for the next book. Witch will be out next month(?) I think, I hope. I don’t think I will be able to last much longer than that. What I wouldn’t give for a copy of it now.

Samuel Ben White’s Top Ten

First Time: The Legend of Garison Fitch

"What if history didn't happen that way ... the first time?"
Garison Fitch was one of the most revered scientists in the Soviet Americas until he left fame behind to work on a secret project in his log cabin in the mountains of Marx.
But something went wrong. Instead of traveling interdimentionally, Garison has traveled through time ... twice.
Now, he's in something called "The United States of America" and a woman he's never met before is calling herself his wife. It it a hoax? Or, has he somehow changed history?
If so, can he return the world to what he believes is "normal", or must he live in this strange world he created?

Samuel,
What are the top ten places you would like to travel in time to and why?

10.  LeadvilleColorado, during the silver rush (1880s).  It’s one of my favorite places to visit now, because of its beauty.  I would like to have seen it back when it was flourishing, with 8 of the 10 richest men in the country living there.  (And, if I can travel back through time, maybe I could buy some stock in some of those guys!)

9.  Delaware River, the night Washington and his troops crossed it.  Would like to see if it really looked like the painting.

8.  San Antonio, 1836.  As a lifelong and loyal Texan, I’d like to see what those heroes were really like and how the troops were positioned.

7.  Red Sea, the day Moses held up his staff and the waters parted.  I wonder if, as you walk across on dry ground, you could reach into the wall of water to either side?

6.  La Plata CanyonColorado, 1850.  It’s such a beautiful place now, and it’s the home of Garison Fitch in the books (and was the summer home of Louis L’Amour) I would like to have seen it before it was cut through with roads and mining.

5.  Dumas, Texas, 1900.  I live in Dumas now.  It would be interesting to see what it looked like in the beginning—then maybe come back every couple years (like a time-lapse video) and see the progression.

4.  Manhattan Island, 1400.  After #5, I got to thinking how interesting to see they changes that human habitation have made to Manhattan.  So I want to time-lapse this one, too.

3.  HaskellTexas, late 1930s.  It would be fun to see what my parents were like as youngsters.

2.  LA, May 1977.  I’d like to be there in the first crowd to see “Star Wars” just to watch the people.  Just kidding, my eyes would be glued to the screen.

1.  Bethlehem, 4 BC (?).  To witness the birth of Christ.
Thank You Sam

Opal Review

Opal (Lux, #3)Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh Daemon… swoon picturing the romantic things you would do to me.. I mean for me.

On to how I feel about this beloved book. I was excited the day Opal came out, but I did not jump to buy it because I knew that I would read it in a matter of hours, and once I was done I would not be satisfied again for a very long while. I put it off as long as I had it in me, which was not long at all.

I was not disappointed from the first page to the last. You know that it was going to be the cliffhanger of a lifetime towards the end because Armentrout pretty much tells us while Katy is thinking. Although I am now wishing I savored instead of devoured this book I am altogether happy..ish

I like how it starts off pretty much where the last one lets off and you get glimpses of past senses you may have forgotten about in the earlier books. Katy is more feisty than before and has more confidence in herself, we feel Dee’s pain and wish ASh would just go away or play nice all the time. Blake, well we just want him to go away but he is always there and creepier then ever. Daemon has a sweet romantic side that we just can’t get enough of and when him and Katy are together is just lights the room up. No bun intended. While we get to see new sides of characters we love we also get to meet new folks we can’t wait to learn more about, like a 15 year old who acts like he is 30.

At times I wished there was a little more action going on, but then I would turn the page there it would be waiting to surprise me. Speaking of surprises if you like them, this book is filled with them. I only gave the book four stars because as much as I love this series and all the characters I just felt that there should of been more to some of parts of the story or they could of been left out all together. or maybe I am just being spiteful because when I read the ending all I wanted to do was scream till I sounded like Katy while she was in her Onyx cage.

If you have not read this series yet, you are missing out and I recommend you start now.

I have loved this series, even though it is a little out of my age range, I can still find the humor and adventure in it. I think that it is a well written series and definitely recommend you pick up the first book if you have not read it yet.
Toxic Part Two (Celestra Series Book 7.5)

Teasers:  “ Then why did I see both Logan and Gage waving their condoms at you at the very same time? By the way, I find it sickening the way the three of you flaunt your fuck-fest in everyones face. It’s not natural."

Surprise to me!

So today I finished reading a book and soon will put a review up for it. As I finished the book after the wild wind of emotions that I felt, I wanted to read the next book in the series. So when I looked it up to see when it was going to be released, to my surprise it came out today!!  So I am extremely excited to read this book. When I picked up the first book I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about and than I feel in Love with it and all of the pain and passion I felt while reading it. My only problem is that I couldn’t put it down and now I feel the same fate in store once I start this book.
